# e-Invoicing Spain: SII 🇪🇸

<!-- markdownlint-disable MD013 -->

**Who this is for:** The finance or accounting contact at your organisation responsible for VAT reporting in Spain. **What it covers:** What the SII integration reports to the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT), how it behaves in the Lavanda PMS and how to activate it.

Our Edicom integration currently supports electronic VAT compliance in Spain and is expanding to other regions where the tax authorities expect realtime / near to realtime VAT invoice reporting. Additionally we will be incorporating e-Invoicing in regions that enforce this for specific types of transactions.

> SII and VERI\*FACTU are mutually exclusive under Spanish legislation. If your entity is not in the SII regime, see [e-Invoicing Spain: VERI\*FACTU](/finance-and-accounting/e-invoicing/spain-verifactu/).

## 1. What SII is

The *Suministro Inmediato de Información* (SII) is the AEAT system for keeping VAT record books electronically. Entities in the SII regime must report the details of each invoice issued to the AEAT within four working days of its issuance.

Lavanda reports through Edicom, a certified intermediary. Lavanda sends the data in a structured format, and Edicom validates it, converts it to the AEAT format and submits it on your behalf.

> SII is a VAT **declaration**, not a VAT payment. Settling VAT with the AEAT remains your responsibility.

## 2. How the integration works

### What is reported

| Item | Scope |
| -------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Record book | Issued invoices book (*Libro registro de facturas expedidas*) |
| Document types | Invoices, and credit notes that revert issued invoices |
| Content | VAT breakdown per document: line items grouped by VAT rate, with taxable base and VAT amount per rate |
| Recipient | Recipient identification, for Spanish and non Spanish recipients |
| Tax territory | Spanish mainland VAT regime. The Canary Islands are not supported. |

Line descriptions (the services or goods invoiced) are not part of the SII report. Only the VAT breakdown is reported.

### Submission frequency

* Submission runs **once a day at 02:00**, covering every document issued the previous day in a single batch.
* Each day's batch covers a defined time window, so no issued document is left out of reporting.
* If a submission fails, it is retried automatically with the same file.
* A copy of every file submitted is retained for audit and reference.

### Validations in the PMS

Workspaces using the SII integration apply Spanish validations before a document moves from **Draft** to **Issued**, so only documents that meet Spanish VAT requirements reach the report.

### One account per legal entity

Each workspace (legal entity) has its own dedicated reporting account, linked to its registration with the AEAT. Workspaces not subject to VAT do not require SII.

## 4. Frequently asked questions

**Is there a limit on the number of documents reported?** No. Documents are sent in a daily batch, so high volume days (for example, rent invoicing at the start of the month) are reported the following day.

**A document is missing from the AEAT. What should I do?** Contact support with the invoice reference and issuance date. Every submission is logged and can be traced.

**Is the received invoices book covered?** No. The integration reports documents issued from the Lavanda PMS only.
