SDI Invoicing
Who this is for: The finance or accounting contact at your organisation responsible for invoicing in Italy. What it covers: How SDI invoicing works in the Lavanda PMS, the information we need from you, and the steps to enable it on your workspace.
Electronic invoicing (fattura elettronica) is mandatory for almost every VAT registered business in Italy. Invoices and credit notes issued from Lavanda reach the Sistema di Interscambio (SDI), the AdE exchange system, in FatturaPA format through Invopop’s accredited channel.
1. How SDI invoicing works
Section titled “1. How SDI invoicing works”- You issue an invoice or credit note in the PMS.
- Lavanda numbers the document, generates the PDF and sends it to Invopop in GOBL format.
- Invopop converts it to FatturaPA and submits it to the SDI through its accredited channel.
- The SDI accepts or rejects the file, usually within minutes, and delivers it to your customer. Delivery confirmation can take up to 5 days.
Documents sent to the SDI
Section titled “Documents sent to the SDI”| Document type | SDI document type |
|---|---|
| Invoice | TD01 |
| Credit note | TD04 |
Recipient details required
Section titled “Recipient details required”| Recipient | Details needed on the document |
|---|---|
| Italian company | Partita IVA |
| Italian private individual | Codice fiscale |
| Recipient outside Italy | Country (and VAT number, if any) |
Italian private individuals and recipients outside Italy do not receive the invoice through the SDI: send them a copy (normally the PDF) as you do today.
Stamp duty (imposta di bollo)
Section titled “Stamp duty (imposta di bollo)”When the net total of lines at 0% VAT exceeds €77.47, the invoice or credit note carries an “Imposta di bollo” note showing it is subject to stamp duty of €2.00. This does not change the value of the document: the AdE charges the €2.00 to you. If you want to recharge it to the guest, add it as an optional service, as Lavanda does not do this automatically. This applies to both invoices and credit notes. Lines at 0% VAT are reported as exempt with nature code N4. Confirm with your adviser that this treatment fits your entity.
2. Information we need from you
Section titled “2. Information we need from you”Send the following via the PMS chat or to your Account Manager. They must match your registration with the AdE exactly, as they appear on every invoice.
- Workspace name (in the Lavanda PMS)
- Company legal name
- Partita IVA (VAT number, without the
ITprefix) - Registered office address: street, street number, postcode (CAP), city, province (two letter code, e.g.
MI) - Fiscal regime code (regime fiscale), e.g.
RF01for the ordinary regime. If you do not provide one,RF01is used.
No action is needed in your AdE account to issue invoices through Lavanda.
3. How to enable SDI invoicing
Section titled “3. How to enable SDI invoicing”Step 1: Request activation
Section titled “Step 1: Request activation”Raise a support ticket via the PMS chat or reach out to your Account Manager.
Step 2: Send us your company details
Section titled “Step 2: Send us your company details”Send the information listed in section 2. Lavanda uses it to configure your entity in Invopop.
Step 3: Test
Section titled “Step 3: Test”Lavanda confirms when your workspace is connected and runs a test issue with you.
Step 4: Go live
Section titled “Step 4: Go live”Once the test is successful, Lavanda enables SDI invoicing on your workspace. From then on, every invoice and credit note you issue is sent to the SDI.
4. Good to know
Section titled “4. Good to know”- Receiving supplier invoices (passive invoicing) through the SDI is not part of this integration.
- Your accountant remains responsible for your VAT returns and for the legal archiving (conservazione sostitutiva) of your e-invoices.
